Demand Based Chiller Controls

Improve chiller efficiency with active chilled water temperature adjustments based on the actual cooling load.  Additionally, use demand limiting to decrease chiller power during peak-shaving events.

Chiller Staging

Chiller performance varies with load and waters temperatures.  Enable and disable chillers based on optimal load points according to the chiller manufacturer’s data and auxiliary components.

Water Balancing

Reduce flow restrictions where possible.  Utilize variable frequency drives in lieu of throttled balancing valves and minimize the use of open bypasses.

Cooling Tower Controls

Lower the condenser water temperature to reduce chiller “lift” and decrease the amount of work the chiller needs to do.  Balance this with proper control of tower fans to improve the overall plant efficiency.

Pump Controls

Decrease pump energy with “smarter” sequences designed to satisfy cooling needs efficiently.  Pump sequences work in conjunction with other system components to ensure reliable and efficient plant operation.

Energy Audits

Our energy building audits are comprehensive assessments that evaluate a building’s energy usage and efficiency, offering actionable recommendations to reduce consumption and improve performance. This is the first step towards getting your building on the right track. We will conduct a thorough audit to determine areas of vulnerability and energy inefficiency. The energy audit helps us develop a detailed strategy.

Utility Bill Benchmarking

Utility bill benchmarking involves a detailed examination of utility invoices to identify billing rates and errors, overcharges, and opportunities for cost savings through comparison of similar type businesses.  Ultimately helping businesses and households optimize their energy consumption. A comprehensive utility bill analysis is conducted to compare billing and usage data to physical components in your facility. This can determine additional savings opportunities.

Energy Modeling

Energy modeling is the computational simulation of a building or system’s energy use, aimed at predicting and analyzing energy consumption patterns to inform design choices and operational improvements. Building energy modeling is how we estimate energy and utility cost savings for the measures we recommend. Energy modeling allows our clients to view potential savings before we begin.

Retro-commissioning (RCx)

Retro-commissioning is the process of reviewing and optimizing the performance of existing building systems to ensure they operate as efficiently as possible, often resulting in reduced energy consumption and costs. Most see this this phase as getting the building to run as originally designed, but we take it further by optimizing your energy consuming systems.

Control Sequences

Control sequences are sets of programmed instructions that dictate the operational behavior of mechanical and electrical systems in a building, optimizing performance and energy efficiency. During this phase, we will fine-tune control sequences (or sequences of operation). This is the logic that tells a fan when it needs to ramp up, when a chiller needs to stage on, when a valve needs to open, etc.

Utility Rebate Assistance

Utility rebate assistance involves guiding consumers through the process of applying for and obtaining rebates from utility companies for implementing energy-efficient measures, thereby reducing overall costs. We will research and assist your organization in finding and acquiring all energy efficiency rebates available to finance your project. From HVAC upgrades to LED lighting retrofits, we will find incentives.

New Construction Rebate Assistance

New construction rebates are financial incentives offered by utility companies or government agencies to encourage the incorporation of energy-efficient technologies and practices in newly built structures. If you are engaging in new construction, we will identify and apply for any new construction energy efficiency rebates that are available for your project.

Measurement & Verification (M&V)

Measurement and Verification (M&V) is the process of quantifying the effectiveness of energy-saving initiatives by collecting and analyzing data before and after implementation to confirm actual energy performance improvements. We will verify any savings after a project is completed through the analysis of logger, trend, and utility data. We can perform M&V for all of our projects.

Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG)

The “E” in ESG stands for Environmental, which refers to a company’s efforts to minimize its ecological impact through sustainable practices such as reducing carbon emissions, energy management, and energy conservation.
